There are two branches to the Eastern train line offering passenger services: the Ban Plu Ta Luang line (via Pattaya city) and the Aranyaprathet line (to the border with Cambodia). There is a third branch to the Eastern train line running to the sea port and industrial estates at Marp Ta Put, but at the moment this line only carries freight.

At present there is a single passenger train per day on the Ban Plu Ta Luang train line, which stops at Pattaya city on route. This service is Train #283 departs from Bangkok Hua Lamphong Train Station at 06:55 scheduled to arrive at Pattaya city at 10:34. This service is on an ordinary train and it is normally at least an hour quicker to travel by bus to Pattaya city from Bangkok.
